About the Author
Horses and hunting have always been a large part of my life. From an early age I was always running in the woods; and when I was 13, I got my first horse and he was from Texas.

Hardly a day went by in grade school, prep school or college when my mind was more on the woods than on the subject. We are all gifted in different ways, and I certainly was never gifted with a desire for scholastic courses. I would always search the libraries for books dealing with the outdoors. I read Northwest Passage four times, Will James’ Lone Cowboy five or six times, all of Jack London’s books, all of Ben Green’s Texas horse adventures, Paul St. Pierre’s fascinating tales of British Columbia, Rich Hobson’s ranching adventures (also in British Columbia) and hundreds of books by obscure authors in this great land of ours in North America. I have hundreds of books in my library by obscure authors on these subjects that are a favorite of mine. I also have many books on subjects in my library that are largely unread by me that I have promised myself to read someday, but it is always put off.

May the Lord continue to bless me with eyesight that I may continue to read horse and hunting adventures until I go to heaven!

After graduation from Marquette, I worked for a ready-mix concrete company and thought they should also be in the aggregate business, but they thought differently. I started my own company with $800 and a double mortgage on my house. I never thought it would grow beyond a small one-horse outfit, but it has grown way beyond not only my own, but anybody’s expectations. I certainly was blessed by our good and bountiful Lord.

I presently reside on a beautiful ranch at the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming.

I’m hoping this book will become successful and be able to sell one or two copies so that it will qualify as a best seller.

Read and enjoy,
Bruce Gilbert
